| Dato | Perché | Base giuridica | Conservazione |
|---|---|---|---|

The game has no chat and no ads, a single optional purchase, and does not sell or share data with anyone.
To work, the game stores some information in the browser's local storage: the current campaign and mission; your preferences (audio, graphics quality, effects, language); the stories read; acceptance of the Terms; if you sign in, the account session (Firebase Authentication) and a copy of the full-game unlock, to play offline too; a copy of the game files (service worker), to load faster and replay offline what you have already played. This storage is strictly necessary for the game to work: no consent is required. We use no profiling or analytics cookies.
Payment. Only when you choose to buy the full game does the game load PayPal's buttons and window, which use their own cookies and technical tools needed for payment and fraud prevention, under PayPal's privacy statement. Before that, no PayPal file is loaded.
Presentation page (/welcome). Only there do we count visits anonymously: where the visit comes from, phone or computer, operating system, browser language and time zone, time on page, scroll depth, sections read and buttons clicked. No cookies, nothing stored on the device, no IP address recorded, no identifier linking visits. Legal basis: legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f); the data is stored on Google Firebase (European Union) for no more than 24 months.
Data is never sold or shared. It is processed on our behalf, as processor, by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC: Firebase Hosting (game delivery), Firebase Authentication (accounts, confirmation and password-recovery emails), Cloud Firestore (online save, unlock and purchase records, on servers in the European Union, Belgium), Cloud Functions (payment and confirmations, Belgium), Firebase App Check with reCAPTCHA Enterprise (anti-bot). The game's emails (account confirmation, password recovery, purchase confirmation) and correspondence with the contact above go through the mailboxes of the thedrowneddawn.com domain, run by Aruba S.p.A. (Italy) as processor.
Purchases. We sell the full game (section 1) and payment goes through PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A. (Luxembourg), which processes payment data as an independent controller under its own privacy statement and passes us only the order data (section 2). For tax purposes, sale data without personal data (amount, country, date, transaction id) is added to the controller's sales register, on the same provider (Google Firebase).
If you use Sign in with Google, sign-in happens on Google's pages under its privacy policy.
Saves are stored in Europe; hosting logs, account data and anti-bot signals may be processed on servers in the United States, on the basis of the European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (EU–US Data Privacy Framework), to which Google LLC adheres, supplemented by Standard Contractual Clauses. PayPal is based in the European Union and applies its own safeguards for other transfers.
All communication is encrypted (HTTPS). The online save can be read and changed only by its owner, enforced by server-side database rules. The full-game unlock is written only by the server after payment. App Check blocks requests that do not come from the real game. The site loads only its own files, plus Google's files needed for sign-in and anti-bot protection and, only when you choose to buy, PayPal's.
You can ask at any time for access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability of your data and object to processing based on legitimate interest (arts. 15-22 GDPR) by writing to info@thedrowneddawn.com. You can delete your account and online save yourself in the game (Account → Delete account): deletion is immediate. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
Accounts are for people aged 16 or over. The game is a horror game not suitable for children.
